Cone calculator
Use this reference table to estimate how many pre-rolled cones a given weight of material will fill, and how many boxes to order. An interactive cone calculator is coming soon; until then, the table below covers the most common fill weights.

Cones = weight ÷ fill per cone, rounded down. Boxes = cones ÷ units per box, rounded up to whole boxes. Estimates assume every cone is filled to the stated weight and do not include grinding loss or rejects, so add your own measured allowance. 120mm and 140mm cones are custom production on request; box counts are confirmed with the quote.
How to use the table
- Choose your fill weight. Use the weight you actually put in each cone, which may be below the cone's full capacity.
- Read across to your batch size. Scale proportionally for other weights: 5 kg is half the 10 kg figure.
- Add a reject allowance based on your own production records.
- Round up to cartons for regular supply. Every carton holds 6 boxes.
Formula
Cones = material weight in grams ÷ fill weight per cone in grams. One pound is 453.6 g. For example, 10 lb of material at 1.0 g per cone fills about 4,536 cones, or 6 boxes of 800 king size cones (one carton holds 4,800).
Units per box
- 98mm and 109mm cones, paper tip: 800 per box
- 78mm and 84mm cones, paper tip: 900 per box
- Cones 76mm and shorter, paper tip: 1,000 per box
- Speciality cones and pre-rolled tubes: 250 per box
- Every carton: 6 boxes
